Winter can be brutal on your skin. It can get dry, and look dull, and generally feel like it’s not at it’s best. There are some things you can do to keep your skin looking and feeling great all winter, though. Here are some winter skin care tips to keep your face fresh all year long.

Moisturize After Showering

Your skin can dry out fast in the winter, so moisturizing is important. One handy technique is to moisturize when your skin is already wet. When it’s wet, it will better absorb more moisture, so that cream will be more effective and longer lasting. Many moisturizing creams contain valuable ingredients that help nourish your skin.

Exfoliate

Exfoliating helps get rid of dead skin cells. Use a facial brush to help get the dead skin out of the way so that any product you use can be more effective. Your skin texture will improve.

Water

This tip can probably apply to any season, but it is even more important in the winter. Hydrated skin looks fuller and more supple. This will make your skin look younger and healthier. Make sure you have access to water throughout the day, either with your own water bottle or through a source at work or school. Hydration is simply one of the best things you can do for your skin.

Sunsreen

No, you are probably not going to the beach in the middle of winter, but sunscreen is still important during the colder months. UV rays do not care what season it is, and exposure to the sun can dry out your skin and even cause sunburn in the winter. We sometimes do not realize that UV can penetrate glass, so if you are driving in your car your exposed skin can still be affected.

Chemical Peel

The summer is tough on your skin as well because of sun damage. This can naturally heal during the winter when there is not much exposure, but a chemical peel or another facial treatment can aid in the process and get your skin that much better prepared for the next summer.

From sunscreen to chemical peels, follow these tips to keep your skin looking great through those long winter months.
